If you’re looking for a cool iPhone app, I have a suggestion for you. It’s been around a while, but it’s just now starting to really take off. It’s called Instagram.
The app is simple. You take a picture and it posts in a social media format, i.e. there is a feed and you scroll down to check out pics of those you “follow.” Then, you can add a caption, a location, and the post to Facebook or Twitter (or more services). When you take the photo, you have several filters that add depth to your photo as well as tilt-shift (which is blur). After you post, you can scroll through your friends picks and “like” their photos or leave a comment or two. If there are enough likes, you can make the popular page for the world to see! Don’t worry though, if you are a more private person, you can make your account private and only allow users you accept to follow you. Keep those creepers away! It’s a great app for the price: free! Check it out in the App store here.
If you jump on, be sure to connect to Facebook and Twitter for others to find you and see your beautiful pics! Here are some suggestions of people to follow if you do (their usernames are in parentheses): me! (pstohler – be warned though, much of my feed involves food. Not a shocker, I’m sure) Michelle (michellestohler), Jon Foreman (jonforeman), Mark Hall (markhallcc), Lecrae (lecrae), Hillsong United (hillsongunited), Jon Acuff (jonacuff), and Phil Wickham (philwickham). That’s probably enough to get you started. Once you do, you can easily search for more.
Do you use Instagram? If so, what are your thoughts? Leave your username so others can check you out. Fun times!
